I purchased an in hull 2d transducer as an add on to have high speed 2d sonar readings (mainly i wanted to know depth at high speeds) and it works great. I will list the part numbers.
AS SI DB Y Cable XP 9 20 (2D Transducer)

Did you get a toggle switch to switch from your other transducer to the inhull?? (Im assuming you have one on the transom as well) I have the same unit and have the side imaging on the transom and have an inhull for higher speeds but I have to switch from one to the other.

The tranducer is mounded on the bottom of the jack plate. I thought it was moving and that's we the reason. I fixed that.
So start with the 2D.
Then mount a second traduces in the hull.

If its your SI transducer its suppose to have a little play in it.
Make sure the the angle it is mounted at matches the angle when boat is in the water where it actually level then (not on the trailer).I also have a thru the hull 2D transducer. Also had a HB guru help with all the settings on my 1197 and before my graph (2D) would only read to about 30mph now it will read at 60+ mph.

(Im assuming you have one on the transom as well) I have the same unit and have the side imaging on the transom and have an inhull for higher speeds but I have to switch from one to the other. The Y cable allows you to have both hooked up but the inhull will take over the 2d sonar readings and it does a great job, I guess it sort of diasables the 2d portion of your SI transducer

If your saying that you do have a transducer mounted in the hull then there is probably an air void under it. Probably have to remount the transducer.
