Right and wrong on that. Yes its coming from pines but not all of it. Thank the dumba who doesn't know how to read a water gauge to begin with and Caddo would have never been that low. I was told by a bunch of people that someone got in alot of trouble over it being so low!!

Also would advise not to fish Caddo this weekend. 100 plus boat tournament out there

You also have to contend with a ton of crappie fishermen too. They are mostly confined to the main channel around Johnson's Ranch though.

I used to fish with an old timer that has lived around LOP area his whole life....we moved here in 2006...anyway....he told me once that there is some sort of rule or law or something that Caddo must maintain a certain depth or level which is why they are always releasing water from LOP to keep the Caddo basin at certain levels.
True or not true I don't know.

Glad its full again....was really enjoying time on the water there last spring and early summer....

Not to mention Black Cypress and Little Cypress Bayous dumping lots of water downstream from Jefferson...

I think that's right. I think that was part of the agreement when Pines was impounded. Caddo was there first and I believe there are provisions to maintain it at certain level at the possible expense of Pines.

I think it's also why Pines sometimes gets 14-15 feet high.

Yes Caddo is part of reason Pines gets so high at times, also it doesnt take as much run off to make Caddo rise. With Big and Little Cypress feeding it, a little rain goes a long way down there. Im going Thur, cant wait. Favorite place in the world for me to fish

I have also heard that since Caddo is a natural lake they have to keep it at full pool.Which sucks for Pines but I love Caddo and glad it is getting back to normal.

I'm guessing the low water probably dried out and shifted some timber. I was running from Shady Glade up to the C77 C78 markers last spring with no problem. I knew where shallow timber was at that time and could avoid it pretty well.... Am I correct in assuming I should not be running up that way full bore just yet??

U can run it. But at ur own risk. Seeing what's in the boat lanes or loose by when it was so low is scary!! I can tell u that there is huge stump in boat rubetween c 21 and c22 but at full pool level ur fine
