 Where to mount a GPS Antenna???

Looking for some suggestions on where to mount my GPS reciever/antenna. I think I saw someone mount theirs inside the battery box, but will this work? Can it shoot through the box lid? Also, how did you mount it, do you drill holes in fiberglass? I have a lowrance LCM 17 and the new LGC-2000 antenna... Thanks,

I wouldn't mount it inside one of your lids. I have noticed when I take out my kids they will some times sit on or over my antenna and it will loose the signal. I have mine mounted on my rear deck right behind the driver seat. I have seen alot of boats done that way.

mine is mounted on the right rear part of my back deck of my basscat. no problems. was set up by tommy at rockwall marine. great job no issues.

I have to agree on the deck behind the seat or next to the console on the side. Under a deck lid woud be a bad choice and limit your sensativity causing navigation accuracy problems.
The GPS Antenna needs to have an Unobstructed view of the sky to read all the Sat channles.
