I just got back from Cedar Hill Perch Pond stocked today.As usual,they are the size of your middle finger.

I just got back from Cedar Hill Perch Pond stocked today.As usual,they are the size of your middle finger. The Tarrant Regional Water District will stock the Trinity River in Fort Worth Thursday, Jan 19, with trout up to 18 inches in length, with the average being about 12 inches. They will sure beat the TPWD 6 inch trout. The trout are furnished by Crystal Lake Nursery in Missouri.

I was also at Cedar hill today around 12:30 today. We were very unprepared. I had white 30# braid and my other rod was a micro lite. I can say, they bit on my rooster tail and didn't touch the power bait. My buddy had two baitcasters. He couldn't cast more than 10 yds with a 1/16 size lure. My advice. Bring a Med to Med light 6'6 - 7'0 rod with 4-8 lbs mono or flouro, spinning reel. Some rooster tail. And maybe some power bait type (in case they don't hit the lures). Fortunately we did limit out on the minnows ugh trout, but it took a couple hours.

Caught one last year on 30 lb. line baited with a whole shrimp. (They stock channels in the same pond.)
Just not into it this year . They're fun to catch but there's not much fillet left from an 8 incher. I really need to take a trip up north and hook up with some of them full-sized ones.

Went to Ablon today. Plenty of trout jumping but no fish where being caught. Water needs a few days to settle and clear up a bit

Anyone think that there are any fish left in Ablon or are the birds fat, dumb and happy at this point. Thinking of trying it later today.

I hate to have success by stupidity,but I accidently left a baggie of canned corn in my trunk for about a week.I went trout fishing and decided to try the bag.It smelt like corn times 3.
To my surprise,it was like putting stinkbait in front of a catfish.The trout attacked it like sharks.I will always have a putrid bag handy fron now on.

fished at northwest park in irving today. not one bite...those dang commorant birds were there sticking their heads in the water. any one have any luck at bethany lakes? didn't know if they were still biting after they stocked it some time ago.
