When is the best time to stock channel cats. Approximation on the cost and recommended amount of catfish and bait fish? My pond is about a acre or so with a good channel that runs into a bell shape. It was dug out this summer during the drought and before just had a few bass, mud cat's, and perch but the summer completely dried it. It's around 12 to 16 feet deep and full now? Thanks

Call your county extension agent. He can be of great assistance.

I have a pond about the same. I stocked channel and blue in the spring and they were all healthy. Lost them all this summer to the drought but without a drought they will be there from now on. The blues got to be about 5-7 lb's and the channels were about 2-4 lbs. when it fried up. They had been in there for about 4 years so they did spawn. I stocked some bream with them and had to restock the bream a couple of times.
