I am looking for a transom saver as follows:

1) Transom saver is over the roller type with long reach (about 49-53 inches) so most models aren't long enough.

2) Boat is Triton TR-21 with 225 Merc

I did find a few on the web that meets my needs but I was curious if anyone had a personal recommendations.

Also, anyone tried m-y wedge - http://www.m-ywedge.com ?

Thanks,
KB

Some thing is not right with this picture 4 to 4 1/2 foot transon saver?

You sure every thing is set up properly?

I have a 19 1/2' Champion and mine is around 36"

When you get that long, I like to take the ends off and replace the square tubing with 1" hex solid aluminum bar. Done this several times, mostly on Rangers with set back transoms.

I have used the Loc-n-Stow by Swiveleze for the last couple of years and have been very satisfied. I bought mine at BPS. Give it a look!

Cajundaddy,
Am I sure, heck no. smile When I bought my boat new, it came with an extra long transom saver at that time. I believe that the problem is that the roller is well underneath the transom coupled with the fact the the jack plate sets the motor even further back.

Gary,
Good idea, might be able to build my own from the old pieces.

HasBen,
Didn't see that one! I had previously looked at their web site - http://www.swivleze.com/ - but couldn't find anything to my liking. However, I did find the Lock 'N Stow at BPS as you suggested. Makes me wonder if Swivl-EZE discontinued it. Might be a good alternative. It would save me from getting on the ground to find the roller to attach the transom saver. If it works well and easier to install, then I am all for it. smile

Thanks everyone. That should get me started...

I have a problem with mine right now. I guess because it is a ranger w/setback transom, I have to extend it way out. Don't know the exact measurements, but i know if the motor turns slightly during towing it puts the saver in a bind. I noticed last week that mine has a crack in the tubing where the v-ed piece goes on the motor. Guess I am going to have to replace it soon. Coach

My question would be is the boat far enough forward on the trailer? I don't care who manufactured the boat and trailer doesnt mean its set up correctly. Also what position is the motor in; I would think some where around 15 to 20 degrees off vertical.

Good Point Cajun, That is something I haven't thought about. I just didn't want anything dragging on a speedbump by the ramp. My motor maybe tilted too high. THanks Coach
