I've lived in TX 20+ yrs now & have said many times going to go fish RC but have not. Never even looked at it. I plan to go this spring & fish for Sac-a-lait &/or LM Bass.
Would some please share your knowledge?

*I've read/seen Oak Cove Marina mentioned a few times. Is that a good place to go spend a few days & to fish out of? I & my 2 sons would prefer as less croud as possible. A reasonably priced room with elec. & shower or If weather is cool even pitching the Tent is fine. Nothing Fancy for sure. We like to camp out. Just need to charge boat batteries & shower every other day or so. I also read some on Fisherman's point but I figured it being close to Dam would be lot's of Jet boats/skiers in that area.

Please, any insite appreciated & Thanks in advance.

When I go to R/C Oak Cove is where I stay. The roooms are not fancy at all and are resonable priced. The boat ramp is good normally but right now I am not sure with the low water level. They have everything you need right there. Gas, food and ice.
They are also very nice people who depend on fishermen for thier livelyhood and they treat you like they should.

RC is the best kept 45,000 acre Secret in the State!

Skiers and Jet Skiers are not a problem on RC. The Weekends in the Summer and the Holidays are a little busy, but you have 90% less traffic than on a DFW Lake,Cedar Creek, etc.

We use Fisherman's Point and their Cabins for all our Customers. The Cafe is good , the boat ramp OK, and the facilities good.

Oak Cove is good also! It's just that our operation ( www.gonefishin.biz )is on the South End of the Lake and Fisherman's Point is convenient. We've been there since 1994 and enjoyed every minute of it!

Good Luck!

Thanks,
Royce & Adam Simmons

Fishermans point and Oak Cove are both good places. I typically launch at Oak Cove because I have an old boat and their ramp is much easier to use. The ramp at fishermans point is very steep. Both places are managed by very good people. Fishermans point has more water front access and better facilities if you have kids that want to swim or play in the water.
