Looking into getting a new rod, and torn between:
Phenix Bass Recon Casting Rod 7'1" Med Lt
Or
Phenix Bass Recon Casting Rod 7'1" Med Hvy
It will be mostly used for dropshotting and jerkbaits for the Winter, and probably transition it to a shallow cranker for the Spring and Summer. The reel on it will be a Daiwa Sol paired with 10lb fluoro.

I've never used. A phenix but I think a med would be a better all around rod more back bone for worming and crankin. I don't care for a ML at all.

For drop-shotting, i would go lite. Easier to impart subtle action on the lure. You will be more than likely using a light wire hook too. A softer action will prevent the hook from bending when setting the hook and playing a fish.

Two different rod actions man. You can drop shot and crank a shallow diver on a medium but anything else will not be conductive for both. overall though I have a few custom rods on the Phoenix blank and they are sweet blanks.

I would go med lt for what you are wanting to do. Phenix are great rods.
