Anyone ever found a general fishing site with fishing reports that are any good, or are they all just generic "fishing goood on XYZ on on main lake points, etc, etc, etc" and only updated every couple of months? Thoughts?
PM me to let me know how it was!

I can't say that I have. Most are very dated material that doesn't even get water temps correct. Bait selection is probably what was listed for last year at the same time. I wouldn't imagine much thought goes into them. That is why I think this site is so important. Not everyone here is so tight lipped that they will not provide you with some good information.
Nothing worse than driving 100 miles to fish and have no idea where or what to fish with. With today's economy, no one wants to spend money for truck fuel, boat fuel, and oil, to consistently catch nothing. We rely on fishing information posted by our friends to help put us in the ball park at least.
Just my two cents. Unless you have an up coming tournament or something, help a fella out and let us in on what's going on at the lake.

To fishing reports are like other internet reports. Some believable some not so believable. I read them but keep an open mind about how to approach the lake when I get there. Conditions can change and so does patterns. I'd rather educate myself with understanding fish behaviors during seasons and learn to use the equipment I use with the goal to make me a better fisherman. Yes it costs alot of money to go fishing and it can get to where it might make more sense to hire a guide if I really expected catching alot of bass. Even then no guarentee. I've hire guides during different part of the season on a lake to find out patterns and yeah some locations. On one trip the guide had to work his behind off to put me on some numbers of fish. That day conditions changed from the week before. My attitude is I rather be outside fishing than inside working. If I can catch a few that's icing on the cake.

OK...
If you like Whitney, you can check out my web site.... I usually post a report at least once a week... that is whenever I go...
I started doing my own reports because I couldn't find reliable reports eleswere.. or at least any I agreed with.

Most online reports are jokes. I looked at a report for Bridgeport a while back and looked at reports from previous years at the same time. The states pays a third party to provide reports to post. A little cut & paste action going on. I'll provide duplicate reports to tpwd if the checks clear.
This is a very tall order. We need the best. Get me MacGruber.

I applaud all of you that are willing to take the time to post legit fishing reports here on this site. I can understand the folks who fish the tourneys not willing to give up their honey hole, but most of us just want to go out and have a good time on the water. With all the money we spend for boats and equipment, we just want to catch a few fish and maybe pass it on to the young ones or someone visiting this great state of Texas. Again, thank you very much.

Nitro Dan... cool.
Hey, us old guys don't have much to do so writing a little blog report each time we go fishing isn't much. And, we enjoy the responses and questions we get from folks and a lot of them have helped us out when we needed it.

Echo for Nitro Dan.
Thanks to all who post for those of us who can't get on the water all that much, but love the great sport and just want to have a little fun time. (Resolution this year is to get on the water more!)
PM me to let me know how it was!

I did get a "report" that the Robinson Bass Club held a tournament on Whitney last weekend. According to rumor, the winning weight was over 20 lbs and second place was 11 or 12 lbs. Thier web site indicates there was to be a Tournament on Whitney in January. But, the web site for Robinson Bass Club has not posted the results as yet...
The Boss and I fished over the weekend at Whitney and didn't do any good.... zero, nadda, zip, nuttin.
But, apparently, the folks who know how, found fish and put them in the boat. I guess it is all in knowing how... which is exactly why I don't fish in tournaments and give my money away.

iFishEarth.com and iFishEarth for iPhone are both set up to change and improve the landscape of fishing reports on the Internet. Check it out, I developed and designed both and would love to hear your thoughts. The coverage of Texas reports will be expanding/improving in the next couple of weeks.
