What ever happened to Mercury/Stroker attempt to set a new world record for the fastest bass boat?

Bass and Walleye Boats had an article about a gas turbine engine similar to the one pictured (maybe the same one) a year or two ago. It was just a paragraph long, they had put the motor on a larger heavier boat.
The article if I remember said this motor was actually reasonable on fuel however the motor itself was costly, around 50 thousand dollars to make. The article said the price could be lowered if actually put into production but would still be very expensive.
I wonder what insurance would cost?
