Well headed to the creek today, was walking down the dirt road a spotted a turkey... Had my rod with braid that had a jig on it already...so i sneeked up on him to about 35 feet, and slung my jig over at him...Sure enough!! I caught a turkey he took off with it, i set the hook! Game on! I fought him for about 2 minutes then reeled close in on him a wacked him over the head... So i figure i'd just go back home, with more meat than i caught in two minutes rather than all the meat i've caught out that creek in two months... LMAO...!! yea right..... hope you get a ticket for taking that turkey.

Thats the first llaugh ive had all day thanks fishluvme Haha yea ... Im just pulling yalls leg about snagging a turkey... I did see one though on the way in... He flew off though... Well anyways i caught one 12 and a quarter keeper... I stayed about an hour and left... Was talking to ray down there the whole time, then i left... Well that makes me 2 fish to start the new year off... Cant wait for the spawn when everything starts hopping...

JT .. look were 360 meets 287, go east on highway 287 then go north on FM 661 ,1 mile. You will see the bridge that goes over the creek. There are plenty of well worn paths on both sides of the creek. It is about half a mile to 1 mile hike into the area everyone seems to hang out. It is very easy, maybe to easy to find  . Given Sat's warm weather and a big Low pressure moving in, I suspect there will be a big crowd. Last weekend I was walking in the dark with flashlights, and there was already people there . -good luck

So I stumbled onto this thread yesterday looking for a place to start back up. All of my gear was stolen in 2008 and after a three year hiatus my wife bought me a bunch of new equipment for Christmas this year. I am going out with her this afternoon, hopefully we can find it. Looks like 1/8 maribou is a pretty safe choice so I'm going to run out there with a few different colors and try my luck. Maybe I'll see some of you out there?

When I was paddling, my fish finder read 3-6 ft for most of the creek, but there's a couple of deep spots way back toward the lake, up to 14 ft. It would be quite a walk to get to them though, I tried the other day and I'm not even sure I made it.

Saw a big old turkey about 30 yards from bridge on the west side last week. Last year we had two turkey here in Britton. We threw corn out for several weeks and then they just vanished. Figured bobcats or coyotes but maybe there are still some hanging around.
