I know some guys who got into it with him last week. I guess he doesn't realize that guys can actually use side imaging to find productive areas down there because they found 2 of his spots and whacked em pretty good.

As soon as he threatened to not argue with him I would have laughed my butt off. As soon as he stepped I would have hit the trolling motor and watched him fall in that's if a 7'5 foot flipping stick did not meet him in mid air. then if he made it the S&W would say other wise. I don't take threats to well and if you bring your unwanted self on my rig you may as well break into my house it won't be good for either party.

I don't understand why guys get so close that starts most of this. Yes it's not anyone lake or spot but damn use your head. If you see a guy working a bank follow behind don't cut him off and you will see respect on the water common since goes along ways.

I was on the lake about a week ago and we had fished a spot in Mexico earlier in the day that had several sweet spots on it, we had left the spot and came back about 2hrs later. There was boat about 50 yards from the spot we were stopping on, we got there and started fishing. Dude put his trolling motor on high and started towards us yelling that he's been on this spot all day! I proceeded to tell him this was a public lake and we were not within his casting distance and if he wanted to fish this spot he should have been fishing it! He threatend us not to argue with him, so instead of continuing to argue we left the spot. He was a big boy, I am not! But if I would have been with my regular partner, there would have been a fight for sure!

I don't like to be encroached on either but I see 50 yards as reasonable, Baschamps has a 50 feet distance rule which is much closer than where we stopped from this guy! So let's play nice folks, realize that folks are going to find the same stuff, especially with the quality of electronics most have!
A classic, scream out, situation. Just scream 'em out. If he boards your boat, defend yourself, prosecute him, then sue him,and take his boat. It's not the big ones you have to worry about.

The big boy in the Triton actually mouthed off to some people I know when he had customers in his boat. He is a local and thinks he's entitled to everything on the lake. Word on the streets is that he can't swim, if he gives you any lip just push him in.

He had the chance to say something to me last week and didn't so I'd have to say he doesn't do it to everyone.

Public water in Texas is just that....public. They are everyone's lakes and no one's lakes. On the water, I give respect first and expect respect in return. If ANYONE, guide, pro, whomever (outside of LEO's) infringes on me and tries to get "physical" with me on the water, they better be ready to pay a high price for their aggressiveness. I don't and won't go LOOKING for a fight or confrontation at any time. But I won't back down from one either. Especially if I am within my legal rights.
