What is the purpose of linking your console and bow depth finders? Does it increase the coverage area that is displayed on the screens? What is generally needed to perform this? I looked on the web for info and was not successful.

I know that if you save a waypoint on one unit it will automatically save on the other.

It would be awesome if it increased the coverage of the transducers. Like a shared field of vision. I don't have the DI or SI versions as of yet and the additional data sure would be beneficial.

I don't want to lie to you, I have 4 HDS units on my boat and as far as I know it comes in handy when saving waypoints and controlling sonic hub. It also lets me use down and side imaging on all but one unit with just one transducer. If there's any more benefit to it it is a new one by me.

That sounds like it is well worth it for your setup.. It sounds like I just need to make the investments.
