Boat pulls pretty hard to the right. The correction fin is already as far over to the right as possible. Is a little pull normal?

Engine bolts tight and engine centered? ( dont laugh...seen it b4)

Lower unit skeg or cavitation plate slightly bent?
Water in the hull?

Does it happen only when accelerating hard or while cruising too?

What size/type boat, engine, etc?

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

If it's pulling to the right, I believe you should move the trim tab to the LEFT to correct it.

No, you move the tab all the way to the right, if you're looking at it from the rear facing the motor.

What you are describing is prop torque, and if it's that bad, then I'll guess you're also throwing a big roostertail, over the motor cowling, and if you are, your motor is mounted too high. Which causes excessive prop slip, which is the cause of the torque.

I'd review my motor height first, and if it's good, then a $15 torque tab that mounts to your skeg will cure your problem easy enough.

oldfrog, 18 ft aluminum seaark with a 90hp merc. Nothing appears to be bent, the motor is centered and the bolts are all tight. This may be normal. This is my first boat.

It does it while cruising and accelerating. But, not while moving at lower speeds.
