Anyone on here with a Triton that can tell me where there Puck is mounted to shoot thru the hull?

Mine is mounted in the very back near the bilge pumps, it's kind of a step up type area. When you are looking at the boat from the back there is the area on the back of the hull right above the drain out.

I was wondering if I should move it lower in the boat down by the drain out.

The reason I ask is that I lose bottom contact once the boat gets over 10 mph. I use a 480 with 4,000 watts of power, so I should be able to go faster than that without losing signal.

Tks in advance.

I have a Triton Tr-20 and don't have any problem with the sonar losing bottom contact at planing speeds, however, I've never taken all the stuff out to look at exactly where the xducer is placed. Suffice it to say that if you want to be able to read your sonar at planing speeds, the xducer must be mounted at the hull's lowest point (not on a step-up).

My suggestion would be to call Triton's service line and ask the question of them!

C.
