Trying to clean the grage I found a new in box 2003 Rapala SX2i Spinning Reel in size 20 new in the box that has an additional plastic spool has a copyright date on the box from 2003 so I guess I bought it in 2004 or so.

What is the best rod to pair with this reel?

What is the best length? Best guess this is a fair reel for crappie, panfish and small bass fishing.

What is the best line to buy?

Thanks for any help folks

a cherry wood would be a good cheap rod only problem is that they are 2 piece rods. if you wanna spend about 40 an h2o express rod in 6'6" or 7' from academy in a med action. line 10- 12lb berkly big game

Depending on your price range you have a ton of options. You can find Falcon BuCoos cheaper than $100 and it will suit your needs for years to come. As far as line I would use copoly over mono, or use braid with a fluoro leader.

You have to decide which is more important.
