I am also curious about the Florida stockings.I have read that some current Florida stockings are not 100% Floridas but are a diluted version but are still called Florida bass stockings.Anyone know the difference and can shed some light on this as I was wondering what TPWS is putting into our lakes.

Well!! I personally do not go "fishing" any longer because of my health. I would love to go but can not get in & out of a boat and my hands will not stay locked onto a rod & reel. BUT! Barb & I are taking our series Championship qualifiers to Falcon next October 27-28 for our yearly "Tournament of Champions" We can not wait to get down there with the Anglers Quest "A Team". We are hoping for this to be a big bass bonanza for all who attend. Maybe, just maybe Lake Fork would be a great place to go in 2013...Good Fishing to everybody in 2012!!

I think Falcon fish fight harder. I don't have stats, figures or numbers. I just have an opinion. Because of Fork being so close to the Metroplex, it's gonna get more fishing pressure. I think the state takes better care of Fork, does more restocking and stuff like that. I don't think the state does as much for Falcon. Why should they? Half of it is in Mexico. Because of all the bad things that have happened on the border, quite a few people have stayed away from Falcon which reduces some of the fishing pressure. Like Cameron @LFM said, they're 500 plus miles away, ride the wave as long as you can. Lakes cycle. I'm just thankful that I've got to fish both lakes.

I'm 33 years old and was fortunate enough to fish Fork from the time she filled up until now. I've been to Falcon twice. I've caught bigger fish at Falcon but not by much. Fork was and still is awesome. It will always be my favorite just because my grandpa shared that time with me. Falcon really can't get much better it's just how long can it last? They caught lots of big ones down there before the flurry last couple years, but nothing like this. There is no way. I don't think the state record will ever be broken..in our lifetime anyway.

Fork and Falcon won't ever be as great as Squaw Creek is for kicking out the big girls... Happy New Year!

I have fished Falcon reguarly for 41 years and I have see its ups and downs, Now I fish it over 300 days a year. It is full of 8 to 10 pound fish quite a few 10 to 12 pounders but for some reason not as many 13 to 15 pounders have ever been caught on this lake. I only had caught out of my boat 4 over 13 pounds last year when I personally thought the lake was fishing as good as I have seen it. Real close to 1993. Like said earlier you do not hear about all of the 13 plus caught because most of us do not turn them in. But if one is caught we that live and guide down here know about it and there are really not that many each year. I do beleive that we have fish that live here that will top my record but they are hard to come by and when you get one on they are hard to put in the boat.

I was down at Falcon last month. I personally witnessed a netter pull a bass out of a gill net that was over 10lbs easy. They catch them and they keep them. We caught a lot of fish in that area. The netters were working all around us. Nets everywhere. Fish too! Don't let anyone tell you big fish don't get caught in those nets.

I will totally agree with Big Ken here...Fork back in the late 80's and early 90's was the place to be. I fished fork from 1986-1990 and from 1993-98. I had more fun from 1986-1990 then any other lake. I learned from Mark Stevenson, Ronnie Byrd and Dreabon Joiner. Those three guys taught me a ton....
I bet when JD leaves, the record will fall...

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened by Monday! There have been 3 over 13 caught in the last two days and I know of another couple over 11. The weather is getting right and there are a TON of anglers on the lake! I thought for a minute I made a wrong turn and ended up on fork in march! I know it's a sensitive subject but there is NO way Fork even comes close to Falcon. Maybe Fork in the 90's might be a argument but there are more double digit fish caught at Falcon in one day than Fork produces a month. The place is simply unreal and we may never see a lake this good in our lifetime again. I grew up on Fork during its heyday and live 40 minutes from it now. I would rather make the 9 hour drive to Falcon to fish Falcon for two hours than spend a week at Fork. I know most people are passionate about Fork but it is over rated in my opinion. Different strokes. I prefer to drive 1.5 hours to Fork, fish for 8-10 hours, then drive back home, flip on the HDTV,and sleep in my own bed. I understand that size is not indicative of skill re Bass Fishing. The State record was caught by a guy hanging a minnow over the side, fishing for Crappie.
