Anyone seen, caught or even tried to fish the Nueces for early whites?? Maybe a better question is how much water is there in the river??

I've been wondering the same. I don't think we've had enough rain, but I also heard water is let out from Choke Canyon at a certain time. I can hardly wait.

I need a trip down to the Nueces soon. Maybe the next warm(er) low wind day and take the kayak and troll awhile if there is enough water.

Tried to launch at the Hiway 59 bridge on 1/4/12 -- no luck. Water level is ~ 6 ft lower than last year. The river has lots of debris exposed making navigation difficult.
The lower end of the ramp is covered in ~8-12 inches of mud. You will probably get your vehicle stuck trying get your trailer into the water, then get your trailer struck in the muck of the river bottom. Unless the water level comes up 3-4 feet, trying to launch anything less than a kayak or john boat is going to be tough.
