I am trying to plan a small trip to Beaver's Bend sometime in the spring. Does anyone have any recommendations on a cheap place to stay?

Ideally, I'd love to be on the river. Is staying in the state park the best value?

Also, any guide recommendations?

Thanks everyone!

Carey Thorn guides up there. I haven't used him personally yet, but based on his reports, I don't think you can go wrong. Check out his site. I think he has links to lodging on there as well.

you can stay in the park, which is good, or venture outside the park, and stay at some really nice places. we stay at secluded acres. call tom up and try his place out.

Last time I was there I stayed in Hochatown Country Lodge, just two doors south of Three River Fly Shop. $50 a night includes a free breakfast.

My wife & I stayed at Fox Run Cabins (Hochatown) in November where we spent 3 days fishing the LMF. Good comfortable cabins, hot showers, and the kitchen is well stocked with all of the amenities. Show up with your food, and you're in business.

For dining, Vinnie's Diner is great for breakfast & lunch, and also dinner. There's a pizza place called Grateful Head in Hochatown, and other places close by.

Hochatown lodge is nice, cheap and close. There are some RV spots on the river in the park, but you cant get in the water in that area due to the release when they generate.
