I'm needing to reserve rooms at the classic for a group of us. None of us have ever been to Shreveport/Bossier City before, much less the classic. We would like to stay at a hotel/casino. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you want the full experience, see if you can get rooms at the Downtown Hilton. It's next door to the Expo and where all the pros and their families stay.

horseshoe is where I usually stay and have stayed at el dorado twice as well but never at any of the others. I will tell you the first thing you need to do when you get there is go to this place http://shreveport.superiorgrill.com/ for some of the best mexican food around. The margaritas are awsome too. usually a really good live band wed or thursday -sat. Believe me this place is a must for me

Superior Grill is one of the best spots in Shreveport.

Any input on Boomtown and/or Diamond Jacks?
Superior Grill sounds like my kind of place.

Never stayed at Diamond Jacks, Boomtown is ok, but is on the wrong side of the river from the Expo Center/Downtown. Your closest bets would be Sam's Town or Eldorado. I prefer Sam's Town, beds are super comfortable, to me at least. And you are close to everything. Also after Superior Grill, check out the Blind Tiger, best Cajun/Seafood in Shreveport to me.

I checked on the horseshoe, it's where I usually stay when there on business. Looks like they jacked the rates for the classic weekend, so I booked at the courtyard next door. Used my Marriott points cost =$ 0
don't mind driving across the river to the expo and weigh in. Have stayed at the Hilton before as well. Did not check their prices, figured they were booked months ago.

Wow an after Christmas gift!! Just used my TR points and got a luxury suite at the Horseshoe for Friday and Saturday. I have never been to this event but am excited now. Free rooms and seeing the pros to boot. Fish on!
