Hi, this will be my first time at this creek. I am taking my 68yr old father in law, he gets around okay, but still I was hoping for some idea of how far to go up the creek. Any advice on how far to walk on the dirt road off 661 before turning north to the creek ?

From google sat view it looks like you could walk the dirt road, until you get under the power lines and then make a left going NW to the creek where there looks like some concrete pipe on the south side. Or stay on the dirt road and end up at where another creek joins in..

Just looking for an idea of where to target ... thanks in advance.

walk up north, keep a lookout from where the trail starts. its about 1/4mi down before you see it on your left. Take that left follow the trail until you hit the creek. Be prepared for a long walk. There a some parts where it gets steep but you should be good if you watch your footing.

The farther down you walk the deeper the creek gets. GL!

i went down there today for the first time in my yak and caught 40 plus fish with only 4 keepers there were alot of dinks. it was like march in december not use to catchin crappie that shallow in a creek this time of year . i mostly catch em in 9ft or deeper in other creeks. i guess since that creek is so consistantly shallow it is alot warmer than some of the others?

I couldn't believe it either. It's like fishing in the spawn. I think it's because the creek is relatively shallow so they have no other place to go.

my thoughts exactly. i try those same depths in other creeks i fish and stike out but those other creeks have some deep holes in them to . anyways it was fun like pre spawn practice today.
