Are the new micro guides for the Savvy and Coalition rods similar to the Duckett rods? If so, will they be putting these on Champion or Champion Extreme series rods anytime soon?

Also, what is you opinion on the best Champion or Champion Extreme rod for jigs 1/2-1oz? I have been using the 734C for jigs for awhile and like it but find myself using this rod for several baits and want to add a few new rods so I will have a dedicated jig rod.

I haven't seen the new micro guides yet. But, there are some that have used them that will get on here soon to answer your question. Like you, I use the 734C for jigs. I've been really pleased with the action and feel of it on jigs. But, I know some of the other guys are using the other rods for jigs and love them too. I just know my clients can handle the 734C really well and haven't ventured out to test other rods for that application.

I use the 766 flip for jigs. It's a much stiffer rod than the 734.

I use a DX 745 for pitching a jig and a DX 784 ML for throwing a 1 oz football jig.

In the Champion series, the 764C is great for what you're looking for. I pitch and cast heavier jigs with it a lot.

I got the 735c for jigs from cabela's. It was missing an eyelet from one of the guides and wasn't the split grip I ordered. I am sending it back. Can't wait to try it out when it comes back.

I throw the 735 for t-rigs, jigs, and deadsticking flukes. Great rod, very versatile.

The Micro guides are in Savvy Series only. In TX I would jig fish with 735C or DX 745C for top picks. there are several others that can do the job too. But I think these two are the best. Also, the 735C only comes in full handle but the DX 745c comes in both versions. THX!!

Go with the Extreme line, they are noticably more sensitive than the champion. The 745 is a good choice as mentioned earlier.

I use the 734 and 735 rods in Savvy and Champion for jigs. I like the 5 power for flipping in cover, and the 4 power for fishing open water structure and rocks(football jigs). I absolutely LOVE the Champion EXtreme DX745 for flipping under docks and in nasty stuff! You can feel a fly fart on the jig!

I also agree that the DX 745 is really hard to beat for jigs

Micro= Savvy Series

As far as the jig fishing goes, DX 745C for sure. Has great balance,sensetivity, and has the weight of a finesse rod. Very light for such a big stick. Love it.

I guess I am different because I really like the Champion 704 for jig fishing. It has done really good for me, hooks up with the fish and has plenty of back bone.
