What size line do you use on your spinning reel and baitcast reel? Also what size do you use for your leader?

I use Ande 30# Envy Green Mono, but I don't drift fish, if you want to drift fish don't use over 25# line, and I recomend 20# if you use mono!!!
Good Luck to Ya!!!

I use 25lb offshore angler mono and 20lb big game mono, both in hi vis colors. 40 lb mono leader, but i think I am going to get some heaver line soon for leader line. Not that I have been catching fish that test the 40 lb. But just in case.

My recent Lake Conroe record was caught on 12# Momoi high visibility yellow while drifting. I use the lighter line so that I can break one off should it become hung up without messing up the other rods in the drift.

I use 30 lb hi vis main line and 50 lb mono leader. I drift and anchor with it. Like Larry said, 30 lb is tough to break when hung up.

I use 30 lb berkly big game main line, and stainless 18in leader. But going to power pro 50lb braid an 18in. 30lb big game mono leader. I snapped a rod in half trying to break off some 30lb big game. So its a tough line to break off

If you fish with a rig where the weight in on your mainline above the swivel, and you have to break off, the tension on the line trying to break it off, can send the weight flying back at your face. Your leader should always be heavier.

I dont use spinners for blues but my baitcasters have 80# braid. I use a 50# to 80# leader depending on which one I grab first LOL. Caribou, the braid doesnt stretch so you dont have the slingshot effect with your weight if you break the leader first.

That is still a possibility if you use mono mainline though. For anybody else reading this.

80#+ braid with a 60lb. Big Game leader. 20# Ande mono if you're drifting. fyi braid gets twisted up on spinning if you don't untwist it once a year or so.
