I plan on heading to Lake fork Monday for the first time. Is there any advice for places to launch and places/techniques that have been paying off up there? Any kind words of advice? I have always wanted to fish this lake and will finally get a chance to get up there and fish. Also, does anyone know if LFT will be open Monday the day after Christmas. I would like to stop and a check the place out and maybe pick up some things.

Thanks

You should check with Cameron at Lake Fork Marina. He is on the Forum all the time and can give you some good advice.

154 ramp is good. Check Tom Reddington's recent fishing report. Seems like most of the decent reports are fish coming deep on spoons, deep cranks, and rigs. Good luck, hope you get Fork addicted!

Be careful out there. Lake is about 7'+ low. Lot of extra dangers out there. Even in some of the boat lanes. Being new to the lake, be extra careful.

No shame in idling. . . take your time, fish, have fun... dont be frustrated if you dont catch 27 ten pounders in the first 30 minutes. Fork is a fantastic fishery, part of what makes it so (in my opinion) is its ability to humble even the best of anglers, forcing them to figure out the fish. Love The Fork.
