It is a very strong running motor, I've sold quite a few of them and only had one with any sort of issue, and Mercury more than stood behind it.

I believe (someone please correct me if I am wrong) that the 05 required Premium fuel. That could be a negative and especially since the 06's you can run regular fuel in it.

Other than that I have heard nothing but good things from that motor.

It will make that Bullet FLY!!!

If you buy before 4/15, you will get 5 years of warranty instead of 3.

Bullet,

The 250 Pro XS has been a good engine so far. No real issues with it.

But, if you are interested, I have a 225 Pro XS, brand new in the crate for $13000.00.

And it has warranty until July of 2008. The 250 Pro XS will only come with two year warranty.

well, we may be keeping it now...

Besides, your USED 225 isn't worth as much as our NEW Pro Xs!

I've had a 2005 Opti 250 XS and now a 2006 Opti 250 XS. Both have performed flawlessly. The '05 requires super unleaded fuel, but that would stop me from buying one. After a year of use it may cost you an extra $50 to operate. In addition, the '05's may be a little stronger than the '06's. Regardless, there's not another engine out there that is more reliable and as strong as the 250 XS!
