Navionics Freshest Data Update to both my PC App and Platinum/Premium card updated Lake Fork, TX but all the contour depths are way wrong.

Lake Fork depths wrong.
Lake Tawakoni depths are OK.
Lake of Pines depths are OK.
Monticello depths are OK.

How are they incorrect? Thanks for your feedback so we can look into it

All the depths on the contour lines are wrong.

Lake Fork's deepest water is ~70-75ft, but Navionics is showing depths at the dam of 200-300ft. Humps of ~30ft are now showing 100ft.

I emailed in a trouble report ticket Saturday.

Thanks for reporting the error. I assure you we are looking into this and will correct it as soon as we get the right info. This is the great thing about freshest data, when error are found as well as new information, we are able to make the corrections and publish it for update via freshest data. Any other chart, you would have to wait a year for the update and purchase a new chart. Navionics gives it to you free for a year from registartion of the chart.

Thanks again for your input, without input from our customers we could not provide the best charts out there.

Tight lines.

Much thanks, Navionics seems to have jumped on this.

Also:
Game Plan-

This is my future plan since the Navionics Platinum and Premium Freshest Data Update is ~1000MB(1GB). The Premium takes a while, but the Platinum takes forever since it seems to regress back and forth before it finishes. I believe this is because the Platinum only has 105MB of free space on its SD card.

The Navionics PC APP notifies you that Freshest Data Update is available. During the download it will display the Navionics Map Areas being updated like SOUTH-NGA11, SOUTH-LA11, etc.

So since I fish in East Texas, if the download displays SOUTH-ETX11, SOUTH-SCTX11 or some other Texas map area. Then I will update my Platinum/Premium cards.

It would be great if Navionics would proved on website what lakes are in SOUTH-ETX11 for example.

That's my plan.

I don't like it that I have to buy a new chip to be able to update data. So I have two units means two 200.00 chips, I have already bought two premium cards a few ago, that should be good enough.

+1

If the chip was worth a darn in the first place, we wouldn't be so worried about getting updated data. The lakes aren't changing with those updates, only the quality of the data.

I have a 2011 chip, but I feel for you guys that bought chips right before the new update-able chips came out. And why are the updates only good for one year? $150-$200 is too much to spend for one year of data. You ought to be able to get updates as long as you own the chip.

I believe the old chips are upgradable to. It's just a SD card nothing special. I took a old one and formatted it and used it in my camera, I was just curious if it would work. Navionics could offer a program where they charge a few dollars and allow any card to be updated, it's just a money game.

Navionics seems to have fixed Fork, but Falcon is still wrong.
They are working on Falcon.

You have to buy a new card to be able to get the updates. The updates started late 2010 if I remember correctly. At any rate, the only way to really guarantee that you get an upgradeable card is to buy a new one. I don't think you'd be able to buy a used one and make it work.

Whats the status for the inaccurate depths for Lake Fork? I just updated my Platinum chip and downloaded the Hotmaps South on PC App. My PC App is still way off, but haven't looked at my chip yet to compare.
