I want to order one of these rods, but I've never used one. I built one myself on their website and it came to $450 minus 15%... Are these rods worth the $$$?
I would like to hear both positive and negative experiences. Thanks in advance.

Have one my son-in-law gave me last year for my birthday......awesome rod, no complaints at all. Lightweight and very sensitive.

Yes, for sure. Talk to Trey, if you are unsure about anything on your custom rod. I had him help me design my 'go to' cranking rod. Tell him what characteristics you are looking for and what it will mainly be used for. Z Bone rods are a collaboration with Gary Loomis. Quality is top notch. You will be extremely satisfied.

There definitely not on the low $ end, but there awesome rods. If you dont mind spending a little more for a higher end blank, I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'd echo what the others have said. My favorite rod.

Sensitive for shakeyhead, jigs, t-rigs and carolina-rigs. The feel with cranks, spinnerbait or chatterbaits is unreal, you will defintely feel the vibration and impact on structure and cover.
I have 7 Kistler Z-bones from the 3MH to the 5H. Mine are all 7'4" and a 7'8". All full-grips on mine. Might have been even move sensitive with split-grip.
AWESOME!!!!
Talk to Trey and the guys at Kistler and get what you want!

Best rod I own, I had a custom built Z-Bone 7'3" heavy made with micro recoils and skeleton reel seat, all I can say is man this thing is awesome! The blank is ultra light and sensitive, but it has tons of power for the Falcon fish, I'm getting older and the shoulders aren't quite what they used to be, so the lighter the better for me!

Hands down a beast!! I will put these rods against anything on the market. What application are you going to use the rod for? What lakes do you fish the most on?
