Looks like we will get close to .5 to 1 inches of rain today (San Antonio) which will put us a bit over December averages (1.91") for the month.
Hopefully the rest of the state is getting the same.
We still need one of those 2" gully-washers to sit over the state. Followed by another one a week later. Then another one.

I am not complaining about the rain, but what we have gotten over the last 3 weeks is not helping any of the big waters out across the state. At best is has caused 2 days of of water loss to become stable. But both Buchanan and Travis both began dropping again this weekend. 4 months ago I began to become a bit more pessemistic on the weather. The .03 per day rains just aint doing it for me. Perhaps with some thunder storms today we may get .75". After 4 weeks of rain, we all should all have rolling mud water flowing. I just dont think the weather pattern has changed. Perhaps this will be the 1 time I am wrong.

I have got to agree with "Hooligan". Any rain is better than no rain however it is going to take several 3" rains to really help the lakes and rivers. On the plus side I have noticed a lot of the local ponds have filled up nicely.

That's kinda what I was wondering. In normal conditions, this much rain would have the waterways rushing with mud and clay colored waters. Looks like a weather train is on the way for yall though. Be nice if the high pressure stayed out of TX till May and the low pressure fronts were free to move through out TX for a while. Hard deluges would do more harm than good though IMHO.
