Are you saying that your allison ran over 100 mph?

Just curious, but what's the fastest bass rig anyone's ever witnessed.

Never saw a 100 mph bass boat running. Kena had one bad Allison.

The OFFICIAL fastest bass boat is an Allison.

The Fastest production direct injection outboard bass boat speed records were set with a specially prepared Allison 2002. The 150 speed was 92 mph. Jaco's has the plaques all over the wall....at least unless someone has broken those records.

I had a XB2002 with a 280 offshore, best effort I got from it was 114, I could hit `100 just about anytime with it. Conditions correct of course.

Fun boat, but it's like a high maintenence girlfriend, after a while, it's just not much fun keeping it going.

David,

I got bad news for ya. eeks

Bass & Walleye Boats was there and they documented the event. It was some APBA Kilo run or something. If you go to Fastbass.com you can look under Bullets and see one pic where his GPS is showing 119! eeks

Don't get me wrong, I still think an Allison is the fastest hull with any given horsepower, but their big dogs won't come out and play... laugh

Ken,
You know there aren't any factory supported Allison "dogs" to play. All the APBA runs were done by private individuals, using their own resources.

And as you know, Nichols is not your standard bass boat driver, and with his skills and support, he's able to achieve rare feats with those bullets.

As you also know, it's not that hard to get an Allison to a ton, but it's dang hard to make anything else run the same. Bass boat of course.

Anyway, that's a fine rig you've got, go enjoy it.

Pat,

I know what you mean about Allison. When I set up my 2002 with the Drag Mota, I called Jim Barnes, who was their sales manager at the time, and offered to fly him to Texas and help me set it up. cheers It was bad to the bone but terrible to fish from.

I made the move to Bullet about a year later. My old Allison is still on Fork so if you see a little red & white boat with a really loud Merc, watch out! That boat will run by my new Bullet so fast it will spin me around backwards!! bolt

Take care,

Ken fish

Not just anyone can drive a boat 100 mph. You can hardly see, let alone breath. One wrong move and it gets a little tricky! My buddy had a Allison that ran 98, and I thought it was the end of the world when that bitch started chine walking. If it decides to take a turn it can throw your butt right out of the boat, and most of the time it involves some broken bones. Scary but it takes balls that clang!

I don't know about the clang part. But I do know the pain factor.

I've been slung out three times. Not once in those three times was I expecting it, or even thought I was doing anything I haven't done hundreds of times before. It happens so fast, you don't have time to correct, or hardly brace for impact.

I've also blown one over at 95, that is more like a Jackie Chan slow motion scene, but once it starts, there is nothing you can do about it, you're at the mercy of the gods

I don't think that a Laser would stay together over 80.

It was a Laser LTV that I blew over. Learn really fast what a touch too much trim into a head wind will cause. Pain.

There is a good chance that you do something that I would think is stupid too, like putting little white balls at a cup down the hallway of your house or something like sitting in a stand with corn feeders all around you waiting to shoot a deer that walks up close, but I wouldn't poke at you for that, now would I???

Take care ya'll,
