It's a sideshow for attention and air time. Just like movie and pop stars do to get attention.

It's a marketing tactic and it pays (alot) to be different and a winner at the same time. +1 it makes for a more interesting show. ish has his angle too. He gets a lot of camera time because of it.

If you ever meet Ike you will soon understand it's his passion that comes out and it also is an act to make tv time. More his face is out the more money he will pull in.

I think whats being refered to here, is what happened in the sudden death of TTBC. If you did not see it, Ike and Combs went out and the first to catch a keeper wins 100,000. When Combs catches his keeper his Marshall calls it in and and someone calls Ikes Marshall and tells them its over. At first I thought Ike was going to be cool but he just loses it. Starts screaming, shaters his rod against the side of his boat and throws whats left about 20 yards. To me he certainly embaressed his sponsers. but before that he was really cool. Explaining what he was doing and why his area was producing so many fish. And then bam, here is the split personality showing up again.

I'd probably reacted the same way with someone dropping the bomb you just lost a $100k.

Publicity and his stored emotions. Better to let the emotion out than keep it stored up in a bottle. 100,000 dependent on the first fish... I would venture to say everyone here woulda screamed or acted out in frustration. That's probably more in one Fish than 75% of us make in a year!!!

I have the old 1999 Wrangler Federation Nation Championship that Ike won on tape. He won the tournament and caught numerous good fish on camera. He never did anything other than an occasional fist pump. Never screamed or anything. His current act is nothing more than a creation of an idiot. He looked like Poindexter too!!! I you ever get a chance to meet Ike in person, you will see he is not what you see on TV. I talk to him every year at ICAST and this last year, he and his wife and child were there just as it opened, and let me tell you, that kid has IKE right where they want him. ITs all SHOW and when he does it, more people talk about him and that puts him out there, its all a Gimmick

Don't like his antics and refuse to watch him. If he's all that's on, I watch hunting.

Ike is a very nice guy and he is awesome with kids. I don't know him well enough to call him a friend, but I have hung out with him a number of times. Ike driving with me in the TFF bay boat.
