Crappie fishing in the creeks of lake Livingston is very good.
I have been using jigs and minnows with customers, and jigs have been out fishing the minnows by far, especially for really big fish.

The bigger fish from the lake have made a strong move to the creeks and fishing should be very good for some time to come. The crazy crappie love the cold winter days to go on feeding binges in deep holes.
Here is a couple of pictures of Gary and his catch, who fished with me yesterday, a limit of 25 nice slab white perch and a few monster yellow bass thrown in for the cat.

Fishing for these big crappie, most are in the 13" to 14" range, will be good through February.

Follow pappy!
I don't know about the entrance to Caney, the lake is up about a foot, I don't think that's enough.
So the old fellow who lives there and has a john boat pulled up the bank is in crappie heaven.
He laughs when he comes in to buy minnows at the other anglers and says, "Got me a limit yesterday, and the day, before, and I'm going to get another limit today", lol!
