 Catfish, seasons , water temps and depths?

I know that this is a broad general question, And I'm only looking for broad general ideas. I always thought that catfis were bottom feeders, generally in the deepest water and only got shallow at night or when it rained. In following this board I found out that I was wrong!!! Starting, in the dead of winter, what depts/temps can catfish be found. What depts/temps, through the year, can one find catfiss. Again, I'm asking a general question. Thanks for all your help, capt david

Season lasts from 1/1 to 12/31. Biggest blues tend to come in winter.
