Our academy in Tyler sucks, I think they restocked in November last year and that was it, frustrating. Beats the hell out of Gander Mountain though  that new barfish looks great!

What exactly is this barfish ? How big do they get? Is it the same fish that some people refer to as yello perch?
 It's also known as a yellow bass. Similar to a white bass (sandie) but don't get as big, and not as aggressive eater. They are a food source for the LMB on Fork, and so many baits are used to mimic them. Hope that helps. Thanks for the explanation. That helps. We have them up here also in a couple lakes I think. They call them yellow perch and they aren't regarded very highly at all.

We have yellow bass here in Alabama, along with all the shad - threadfins, gizzards, etc.
Why are the yellow bass preferred by LMB in Texas, or seem to be, so heavily? Are the yellow bass baits good through spring and summer? Or is it a different (earlier/later) spawning timeframe than shad and a different window of opportunity?

I swear that I caught one about 4 lbs when I was in high school. Called it a white bass but wondered why it was so yellow! Thought about keeping it because it was the biggest "white bass" that I'd ever seen! Rayburn is full of em.

The academy in longview is one of the worst I've been to for fishing gear and keeping things stocked. Me along with others have spoken to managers and sent emails to corporate with no luck.

I've heard You Guys talk about that Store numerous times on the Form. It really suprises Me that in that neck of the woods They don't have sense enough to stock it accordingly. It seems that They could do well. That's a nice looking C/B. I may have to check the NRH Store for it.
