Probably more of a trickle than a river right now.

The last I checked the lake is like 11' low so where I normally fish between Three Rivers and George West it probably is just a trickle.

Might have to use the kayak this year!

That trickle will bring the white bass closer to the airport ramp. I had to paddle so far last year when the water was up. Maybe ya'll will get a good rain around mid January and bring up all those crappie again like two years ago.

How is it going Kyle?

I know I'm going to be missing your fishing reports, as well as others will this year on our area rivers and lakes, but I'm sure the trout, crappie and white bass won't miss you though! rolfmao

I'm afraid we are in for a prolonged drought according to all reports, and that is we are going to be under the same or similar conditions as last year, and that is bad news for our local waterways.

It will congregate the whites though, and in some areas it will make them more accessable to the fishermans hook, but overall it will do harm to the spawn I'm afraid.

I hope the forecasters are wrong as usual and we get some much needed and substancial rainfall for the spring.

Tight lines, Kyle and be safe!

Everything is great Jimbo! I have never fished this much in my life. We live right on the bay here in Biloxi. The saltwater fishing is excellent. Lots of trout, flounder, reds. I probably won't do much freshwater fishing over the next few years. I plan on taking full advantage of living near saltwater. I hope the drought comes to an end in San Antonio. I know it can do some damage to the fisheries. Take care!

Great news Kyle and sounds like you've landed in a sportsmans paradise!

Don't let those salt water fish spoil you, but with that said, It sounds like they already have! cheers

Stay tuned for some fishing reports right after the New Years and again you take care, and keep a line in the water!

Good to read posts from my Fishin buds--- Hope all is going well Jimbo ! I know it is for Kyle since he lives on the Salt water !
With his finesse in fishing, the coastal fish are in for some jerked lips !
I'm winding down on the Deer season-- ended up putting 4 deer in the freezer. BUT-- I'm getting low on fish !!!
Has anyone been down to the Nueces to check out the water level ?
I remember one year when it was low - we caught them way down river near the lake and that was as far as they would go up.
Rio

My stringer is getting there!!

What is really great about this time of year is everyone still has deer hunting on their minds, and me included.

I know exactly what you are saying Rio, and I'm winding down also with plenty of venison for a weekend of sausage making pretty soon.

Can't beat sitting on that river taking a lunch break, and eating fresh venison sausage sandwiches.

I checked out the 59 bridge ramp and don't think you can launch anything more than jon boats, canoes and kayaks. There is a stretch downriver from the ramp that looks about a foot deep. Needs to go up about 3 foot before I'd feel comfortable putting my 17' bass tracker in there.
Looks like I'll be sticking to 99 and San Miguel this winter.
