I have never owned a new boat and was thinking of purchasing one. I have owned Skeeter and Stratos but both were used and really good boats. But I like the idea of a brand new boat and Nitro are the most reasonable that I can find. I have talked to 2 people and they have both bad mouthed Nitro, and when I ask what is the matter with them they say that their hulls are too thin. Does anyone have any advice for me or info that would help me out.

A buddy of mine only buys new boats. His last boat is a 2001 and he said he got alot better deal on a Basscat than anything else around. He is TIGHT with a buck, but he won't buy just because of price. He sold a Nitro when he bought the Basscat. He said he likes the BC better than the Nitro.

I think one thing you will notice is that Nitros do not hold their resale value as well either. Normally that is an indication of how the market perceives the quality of a product.

Character is who you are when nobody else is around.

I bought my Nitro new in 1996, I still own it. As far as I am concerened it is a great boat. I have never had any problems with it. I have the fish and ski model, and have skied it a few times and pulled my brothers kids on the tub some. It does very well. 99% of my time on it is fishing, and it fishes well. I think it is a very well made boat.
But the bottom line is, you have to get what you will be happy with.
Just my .02 worth.
Good luck.

I just bought a New 901 CDX DC w/ 200 Opti and I love it. I'll even demo rid you, if you want. THere are some awsome deals at Fin & Feather off I-35 S in Ft. Worth right now, several different models on clearance. Call me at 817-715-9498. Buy before April 15, I think and you can get an aditional 2 years service warranty on your Merc.

Here's the straight scoop. Do the research on the dealer at least as much as the boat itself.

Visit the service dept without some sales guy yakking at you, talk to people picking up their boats. Are they happy? Do they feel they got prompt and expert service? Any of them wish they'd purchase elsewhere?

I guarantee, you ask those questions, you won't need anyone yapping at you here.
