I'm headed to Austin this weekend to visit my brother and to do a little bass fishing. Looked online and couldn't find any fishing reports for lake Austin. I'm not a tournament angler or trying to steal your honey hole. However, if a fellow TFFer has any info on Lake Austin it would be accepted with humility. PM me or simply reply.
Thanks
A-RON

I need to get down there, they normally start catching the big ones this time of year through February. Does anyone know if they drew it down this year or can you still launch a bassboat?

Lake Austin is currently 100% open. Wish I could say the bass are turned on right now but it has been mighty slow for a couple of weeks.Lots of dead/dying grass.
Lady Bird Lake with our yaks is really on fire...even the wife got a short stringer limit today. This was her 1st true bass fishing day.

When I used to go to school down there I fished Lady Bird more than lake Austin. Lady Bird has some giants in it too. Sight fishing is unreal on that pond in March behind the ampitheater. Fun lake, can be some good scenery too lol.
Thanks for the info on Austin.

I dont think they will be drawing down Austin this year. They did it last year and with Travis being so low.
I havent been out there recently.
Good luck!

Fun lake, can be some good scenery too lol. Does the scenery move very much? Or just lay there?
