I was gonna be sink brush piles in the next couple weeks what trees sink. Gonna be limited on center blocks I can use or can get. Wondering what trees will sink on their own. I have heard sycamore trees will sink on their own, what about Oak or willow?? Anyone know?

Mesquite will sink with leaves or without, and there are plenty of them in west Texas.

Any hard wood is good but don't waste your time on x mas trees as they rot out after one season. Been there did that!! Concrete blocks are cleanest to haul around. I also put tree trunks in 5 gal bucket with sacrete.

I second the Bucket and Sacrete.
Hardwoods will sink the best and last the longest.

Sycamore will go straight down, only weight you need is to hold it in place. Willow generally takes some weight to take it down but sackrete is cheaper than blocks.
Never sank any oaks...
When in doubt, jerk.

Mesquite give off an acidic residue for about 2 months that fish seem to hate. I would use a hardwood like Oak or Elm with a lot of 3" or 4" branches. An old 5 gallon plastic bucket filled with sacrete will sink a pretty big pile.
Retirement best job ever.

No need for a bucket either fill a plastic garbage bag with quickcrete and your sinking on the cheap.
 Boatless for minute

Put Mesquite in PK at 4 spots a few years back and was catching fish within 4-5 days.

No need for a bucket either fill a plastic garbage bag with quickcrete and your sinking on the cheap. We did this off my moms pier. Once the quickcrete dries you can take the bag off and you don't put any plastic in the water.
