I have a question. Are there any good books with containing good information about carp & buffalo? And what I mean is, about their habits, and on how to locate and find them year round.
There seems to me that there's not much info on these species. I caught my first buffalo 20yrs ago "What a rush".

I don't know about books, but these links ought to get you started as well as the Info at the top. Also fish-ins are a great way to learn. Korda Rigs Carp Fishing Tactics - Read all the way down Also, Korda makes some carp fishing videos that show how they set up their swim for session fishing. May be something worth taking a look at as many of us set our swims up similarly on this side of the pond. Youtube videos are good for basics too.
PB Buff - 56lbs PB Common - 26lbs PB Mirror - 7lbs PB Grasser - 45lbs PB Koi - 10lbs

This information is of course for bank fishing with rods and reels. We can't help you if are killing them.
That being said, experience is the best teacher.
