What horsepower rating does the hull carry? Put the maximum rated horsepower on the boat. Anything less and you will regret it.

the blown moter is a 150hp. max hp is 175. i'm just looken for something to keep me on the water till i've completed repairs on the 150.
i wonder if the 115 is just to small. i don't want to burn up a good moter just to wet a hook.

Yes you can run that motor need to run the right prop so it will come out of the hole and be able to turn the correct Rpm's on the big end it will be a tad piggy out of hole but it will work....OPTI

I run a 115 Yami on my 2003 17.5 foot Ranger. I can GPS a tourny load at 48 with a 19 pitch prop. Can't go as fast as the big boys but still catch my share.

Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Culeoka.... I would start with 17 pitch run it and see what your RPM's are and go from there you need to turn that engine around 5500 to 6000 I perfer to prop them to the high side of the range so say you run it and it not in that range go down to a 15 if it is around 6000 to 6200 leave the 17 on but if its up around 6500 go up to a 19 pitch rule of thumb is for ever pitch you will either gain or loose 3 to 400 rpm's depending if whitch way you go ....OPTI

that motor will do fine.the only person you gotta please is you, bet the boat will still do over 40 and that ought to be fast enough, you will also be able to pass up a few fuel docks!

I have a 115hp Merc on my 17.5ft Nitro, rated for 135hp. Top end 50mph when trimed up on flat water. A little slow out of the hole with more than 2 people. Nice little motor for the money.

Yea my dad has/broke a 16.9 boat with a 115 Envirude and gets up to 58 with just 1 person in the boat and with both trolling motor batts out of the back but with 2 people it averages around 45-50 on calm water

I know he has a 21 prop on it and its a pain in the butt to get onto plane but once she gets going and trimed out watch out
