Mine was $26.??, don't remember the change. Very confusing to get it downloaded. Some instructions to use would be nice. I am sure they are there somewhere. Right now I am liking the old version a lot better as far as user friendly.

mine was 26.55 this included tax. I messed with it for a while and figured out how to do basic stuff so far. After you have downloaded it go to the settings. I held the mouse on the right handside of page that popped up. using the mouse the page will scroll up. It has help and other stuff. You will want to turn community data on. This will load areas on lakes that people have added to the map that are good fishing spots. I only loooked at Fayette and it has several areas that someone has tagged. Read the help and it gives very useful info. Maps don't have gps cordinates but marked spots will have them when clicked on. I was somewhat bummed at first but started playing with it and it got better. It does take time to download so be patient

I was wondering if the cursor showed the GPS coor. So I guess you just go to the webstore now and buy he download from Navionics right? So basically this is like the guy that started find your water website, where you have to be a member now that shows everyones favorite spots on that lake. I was wanting something that shows the depth contours and the gps of where the cursor is. I might just be wanting something that even is not invented yet.

To pass more on to my two kids than was passed onto me.

The new version no gps coordinates, unless I have not figured that out either. The old software yes. I am starting to feel more and more like the guys that bought new chips for the FF only to find out the old chip had more info on them. Now Navionics says the new data is more accurate on location.

Still not wasted money because more info is always better. I just liked the way the older version was laid out. Just my .02

Mine has GPS coordinates. Click anywhere on map to view and then has options to add to favorites, etc.

There is another alternative that is the better sequel to HotMaps Explorer and it is DVD based software (not a web browser viewing). NavPlanner 2 has many high definition lakes maps included along with thousand of regular def lakes and all of the coastal USA charts from Navionics. The full list is at NavPlanner 2 lake list

You see your latitude / longitude wherever you hover your mouse pointer. You can change to different units under the Settings menu in case you prefer nautical miles or meters or different degrees / minutes / seconds formats. You can use a Query mode to pull up information on any chart symbols you see. The software also reads in any Navionics SD or CF cards you may have. Full details are under the Products section at:

www.fugawi.com

If you email me at andre@fugawi.com I can send you screen shot samples (not for publication or practical use, just samples of what the sofgtware looks like). The price for this sofware is higher than what has been discussed in this thread but I believe it has the content and capabilities everyone has been asking for.

I bought the dvd for pc 2 weeks ago. Was a little disapointed with it. It does not provide enough detail and I will still be purchasing regular maps for the lakes I plan to fish.

Thanks. Did not know it scrolled or how to get it to. Again a better set of instructions.

GPS coordinates don't match up exactly. It is a good tool to study a lake with.

I've had mine for 2 weeks I'm impressed with what is shows. One of the things I haven't figured out is, I am getting updates on a regular basis but haven't noticed anything different on the lake maps that I have been studying. Is there something that I am missing or what is being updated?

Every lake is not updated weekly. Some (most?) may not be updated at all during the year.
