So I am down here in Stuart Florida seeing my folks....they live on a golf course....water everywhere....and bass are freaking everywhere.

I run to Gander Mountain and grab a nice inexpensive veritas rod and a citca reel and a hundred dollars in tackle (yes they live here and I will be coming back)....I can not get over how awesome the $89.00 citca is performing. Smooth, easy to adjust and light. The rod rocks as well!

I may be repurposing some of my old Chronarchs...flat out these are easier to work with.

Anyone have any bad history with the newest Citca Model

Is it the newer one they came out with this year? I have a couple of the last ones and theyre decent for the money. I can pitch and fish t-rigs with them but not as much for casting applications like traps and spinnerbaits. And if they get wet for some reason they get really tough to cast. Cant beat that deal you got though. I hope the newer ones are better, wouldnt hesitate to buy more.

I'm guessing you are talking about CI200E?

I bought a few of those. Really nice reels for sure. I'm almost completely switched over to Shimano only reels. Require much less maintenance then any other reel I've used.

If you crank check out the new Chronarch reel

I liked that model better than the curado or chronarch. New ones....haven't had enough time to play with them.

I haven't tried the newest citica. I liked this past model (I think it was the E series). I've heard some horrible reports about the newest citica, curado, and chronarchs. I haven't personally tried them, but based on the guys I know with the new ones they say they all got "cheaper" in quality.

Like I said, I haven't tried the newest model and like the most recent previous ones. Anybody else tried the newest ones?

The chronarch e is your old Curado e, same number of bearings, same internals, same frame, higher price point than the curado e

Yup and I think the new citica is the old curado. Nothing new.

I don't think that is right. I think the new citica is more like the old Caenan or however it was spelled. I think the new chronarch is the old curado as someone else said.

The new curado and the new citica are based on the cheaper Caenan platform. The e's were way better than the new ones, glad I bought 3 at Cabelas when they were on sale for $119 and I just picked up 2 Citicas in the bargain cave for $79 a piece, will be searching for more all winter.
