 Top 10 Best rough water bass boats... mid to late 90s.

Guys I am in the VERY early stages of looking at purchasing another boat, probably around spring (if then) What I want is one that will handle rough water when needed. My budget has me looking at 90s model boats right now, probably mid to late 90s or even early 2000s. Need opinions... by brand, what boats handle the rough water well and have good durability when they are 10 -15 years old? thanks for any info.

the Basscats seem to hold their own. I really liked the skeeter zx202c I had, but wont have another one without at least a 225 on it. 66mph just isnt fast enough for me. the skeeter handled very very well in rough water as long as you werent up on pad. once you get on pad, its like skipping a stone across the water. I would have to say the skeeter looks a LOT better than the old Panteras. i think it was late 2000 when they changed the bracing in the zx202c to handle the 225 hp motors.

Champion 202 or 203...Nothing will compare to these...Not a better rough water boat...I miss my 203 when it gets rough.

The older champions were great. Basscat jaguar was good too

look at the "V" series Rangers or the "R" series. Both are great in rough water
|

Any of the Champions from Mid-90's through about '03 are great boats. I test drove Ranger, Nitro, Bass Cat, and Skeeter and ended up buying the Champion for the ride. I have thought about selling it recently to get a 20+ footer but can't bring myself to let it go. At 18'6" it rides better than the Skeeter 20i or the Bass Cat. I heard Legend is a good rough water boat but haven't ridden in one yet.

Speaking from experience, I have a '97 Ranger 461 VS and it rides like a 20 boat in rough water. IMHO, it is the best hull design Ranger ever made for rough water.
