I replaced an oil hose that was leaking yesterday. I put the muffs on the motor and started it up to make sure the leak was fixed and noticed there was no water coming out the water pump outlet. I raised the idle up and water started coming out. I idled it back down and it quit. Does this mean that the impeller is getting bad or could it be something else?
If the phone doesn't ring, it's me. I'm still fishin!

Cann't really tell the condition of the impeller by the telltale stream. Too many varibles. If its a couple of years old, do yourself a favor, and just change it. $30 and 1 hour is alot cheaper than a rebuild.

Get a paper clip or piece of small wire and clean out the "telltail" hole where the water comes out. May just be a little stopped up inside. I do this as normal maintainence once per year.
