Would you rather use a Revo Toro with 5.4:1 ratio, or the Revo Toro winch 4.6:1 Ratio? Basically what Ratio is best for the Arig, I know the Toro winch has stronger drag as well. Would like to hear opinions. This reel will be going on a Dobyns 795ML. Getting my ducks in a row for Xmas banana in order to be ready for Falcon in January!

Winch. I fish it for the 24lbs drag. You'll love it. I just couldnt throw a Calcutta 400 all day. That thing is heavy!

Shimano Cardiff 401A. That's what I'm getting for my bigger (8+ inch) swimbaits. Going to be paired with an Okuma Guide Select 7'11" Xhvy.

I thought about the Cardiff but read too many reviews of the thumbar breaking very fast.

I've got a Cardiff 401 that did that. It lives on my garage floor now with some other reels that never see the lake.

Have somebody that knows reels upsize the washer that holds the thumbar assembly in place on those cardiffs. R Tee did that for me there on Fork, havent had an issue since and just ordered a new Cardiff. Its very simple and R Tee didnt even charge me.

Also a Citica 200G6 would be a good one as well. Low profile and still has plenty of drag at 11-lbs and wont wear you out through the day.

Ding Ding Ding, and theres another. I am staying away from it. Tempted to just get an Anbu 5600 for 59 bucks at Academy, has 12.5 lbs drag and plenty big enough spool and gears, plus returnable. But I am a revo man flehan

jeremy, id go with the toro. u can always slow down and 5:4.1 is plenty slow with enough torque already. i wouldnt go with an old conventional style like a 5600. plus you already have all revos so when you put one down and pick up another its a benefit to have all matching reels so you dont have to adjust. theres a reason for the little black plastic peice above the spool on the 5600's, and thats to allow more room to pick out backlashes. thats just my opinion and plus a cheap reel and a really good rod is kinda a funky match ...

and one more thing, if you were wanting to go with a bigger reel a calcutta te 300 is hard to beat. its more useful though when throwing 8'' swimbaits and up. if it were me, being a shamino guy, i'd go with a 200e5 because curados are what i throw and it would match up good with the 795. however, if i went with the 8' mag, for instance, the calcutta would be more sufficient to fill the needs for bigger baits. thats why i'd go with the toro if i were you. its always benefitial to have matching reels.

staying with the revo theme, go with the toro 50. I've been using them for big baits for a couple years now and had zero problems. The 5.4 is plenty slow enough for swimbaits and you won't ever need all the drag that reel has.

Plus when the A-rig craze fades away, you can sell me the slightly used reel grin
