Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum.
I just bought an old 12 foot aluminum boat. The wooden transom on the back is starting to rot. What kind of wood and protectant should I use to replace it?
Thanks, Adam

Get you some 3/4 or 1 inch plywood, some resin & some hardener, carefully take out the old transom as much in 1 piece as possible to use for a pattern to cut the new wood the same size as the old, mix up resin & hardener, take a paint brush & "paint" on mixture smooth on all edges, let it dry & replace into the boat, that will be there from now on as it will be waterproof!
Keep your powder dry & don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!!

you can get resin and hardner at your local autozone, just ask where the fiberglass repair kits are.
