i have a MG tour edition 82lb variable speed on my skeeter (02). at certain speed settings, usually the middle of the thrust settings(30-60%), the motor makes an audible humming or singing noise. i think i've bent the shaft at some point, just wondering if anyone here has some input. thanks in advance.

When boat is trailered;lets say in your driveway;try running motor for a brief time.See if motor makes noise out of water. It may be the electronics making that noise.

If it is the 2 blade prop, it will do that.

I've had 2 tour edition 24 volt trolling motors and one 36 volt tour edition MG's over the past 3 years. They've all made the humming noise that I think you are referring to. I think it's caused by harmonic vibration from the springs. Not sure because I haven't been that concerned about it. I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as the problem with your trolling motor.

yes it is annoying. i'll try the out of the water trick this week & get back. it is a 3 blade prop. thanks for all the information as always!

btw, fosters, what do you mean by electronics making that noise, do you mean a depthfinder?

thanks again all.
