I don't really know what to call all of the parts but if I turn the prop it just spins on top of the rubber thing. It is like I have worn one or the other out. How would I order some new parts and how do I replace those parts? Thank you for being so helpful. Hey fishinguy, It's called the hub, and you have spun it. Take off the prop and bring it to a prop shop. They will replace the hub, and have them rebuild the prop aswell. This will cost around $50.00 Capjun

I started at the tank (BUILT IN) and am routing from there to the carbs. My next thing to replace is the fuel pump. Should I? Anything you can think of to help me out on this would be greatly appreciated. I would check the fuel tank vent/hose for restrictions. Also see if there is an anti-siphon valve.( remove and throw it away ). Next, I would check the fuel pump. A fuel pressure/vaccum gauge is needed to check for proper values. A diaphram kit is available, if needed. Capjun

Capjun do you have any openings for this week or early next week? 40 hp mercury had the carbs rebuilt last month at Bowie marine in decatur. I can be trucking along and then it feels like i just downshifted like on a car. I called Bowie they told me it wasnt the carb but something else. But like i explained to them, it never did that till they worked on it. They basically told me tough luck and get back in line. I would assume pay someone else to do the work right. I also know i need a new throttle cable. Email me and let me know. thanks

CAPJUN, No problem sir. We know that you have to work. All of us whom have been helped with your replies, Thank You. Those who are waiting will also thank you. I would like to let you know that. I had a couple things wrong with the fuel system, (1) the fuel tank had a whole in it(built in). (2)the diaphram in the fuel pump had a hole in it. THE BOAT HAS A HOLE IN IT. (the drain hole ) THANK YOU and God Bless

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey CAPJUN I have a 1999 225 Evinrude Ficht would like to know what PSI I should read at idle, and top speed.Would like a reference I could go by that way I would know if my impelor needs replaced. The reason Iam asking is I was loading my boat on the trailor and with motor running I layed down on the front of the boat to reach the strap and didnt notice I layed on the trim buttom. After hooking strap went back to kill moter and notice engine was out of the water.I think it was only out of the water for about 10 seconds or so. Thanks Tony L.

Capjun, I have an old 79 Evinrude 100 hp that runs fine, but my tilt and trim that is on it is leaking the tilt/trim fluid around the trim motor at the base of it. Is there a gasket made that I can get to place in there to see if that will stop the leak, or will I have to get a whole new tilt/trim motor? It works fine with fluid in it, but I don't want to have a fluid trail behind me and pollute the waters. Do you have any gaskets for it that I could purchas from you to try?

Hey Stratosman, I'm sorry, but I don't work or know anything about the Ficht Engines. I don't feel comfortable about giving information on engines i've neem trained on. Todays engines are high tech, and any wrong information given may cause bad things to happen. In the past, the ficht engines were blowing powerheads alot. Now they have fixed the problem, and seems to be a good engine. I know the water pump needs to be repkaced every 2 years, regardless how much time is on it. Even if never run the engine, EVERY 2 years, it needs replacement. If you don't know when it was last changed, I recommend you have it repkaced, and keep a record of all maintanance performed from now on. You should contact a OMC/Bombardie dealer, and speak with the service manager about the proper water pressure. Hopefully they will be nice enough and willing to give you that information. If you still can't find the answer, Let me know, and I will make a few phone calls, and try to find it for you Capjun Originally posted by Stratosman: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey CAPJUN I have a 1999 225 Evinrude Ficht would like to know what PSI I should read at idle, and top speed.Would like a reference I could go by that way I would know if my impelor needs replaced. Hey Dan-O, Ibelieve there is an O-ring that seals the motor and pump surface. Let me check a few things, and I'll get back to you Capjun
