Got a 175 Mercury need to rebuild the powerhead. Does any one know of a machine shop that rebuilds powerheads in the Dallas area. I need one cylinder bored out. The crank and other cylinders are fine.

I had the same thing done at West boats in Mesquite (talk to steve). I am sure Tommy at Rockwall Marine does a great job too, I just did not know he was there at the time.
Be prepared because it aint cheap.

culeoka, It does not cause any problem because the piston's weight is changed to compensate for for the oversize. We have been repairing powerheads this way for over 25 years without any problems. This also keeps the cost down considerably by not having to buy as many pistons in most instances.
