I need to replace the water pump on a 1993 Johnson 15 HP outboard. I was going to attempt this myself, but was wondering if there were any secrets or lookouts that I needed to know about before I started. Any help would be appreciated. I have checked out a book from the library on outboard repair that makes it look easy, but sometimes things are as they appear in books.

Thanks

It really is not a big deal. Take your time and you should not have any problems.

Remember there are 5 bolts holding the lower unit on---one is hidden under the anti-corrosion/torque skeg and you'll have to seperate the shift linkage. After that, it's 4 bolts, a keyway and a rubber spider.
