There were some in the original Mountain Valley subdivision, but the numerous droughts, and the ignorance of some that fished the ponds have about done them in. There were some nice ones in the ponds by the golf course, but you can't fish them anymore...I think the only ponds that might still have fish are in Lakewood or in the pond back behind old Mountain Valley. I think you have to live there, or have a friend to be able to fish those, however. Back in the 80's however, there was a lot of fish to be caught and people didn't say a word...then the HOA's came along. bang

The Lakewood pond is in the Lakewood Section of Mountain Valley across from the new QT. You go in to the subdivision and take a right onto Oakdale. Oakdale will split, but stay on the right and it will turn into Lakeside. Just after it becomes Lakeside, there is a sidewalk in between some houses on the right. That leads to the 'park' area and the pond is there...You're probably better off going to the pond in back of old Mountain Valley by the Towne homes. That one, you just go by the Country Club up the hill into the subdivision and there's the pond.

You can fish the gold course pond in mt valley on mondays and at night smile I've caught some 7s outta there a ton ton of catfish and seen pics of monster crappie out of there. The shad in that pond are some of the biggest I've seen also
